Formation of Village People’s Organization
To maintain unity (collective efforts) among village members, ACM initiated a mission to form village-level people’s community in every project village. Social activists of ACM organize various meetings to aware people about village’s welfare, prohibition of alcohol, money-management & saving tips, right use of natural resources, and how to keep the surrounding clean & hygienic.
Impact:
have been organized to form community-based people’s organization in 170 villages – empowering nearly 100,000 people.
Formation of Women’s Organizations
To protect the fundamental rights & liberty of women in the rurals, ACM started forming women groups in its operational villages. Women are being educated about Health, Family planning, Education, Sanitation, Hygiene, Cleanliness, Money-Management, Saving Tips, and are also motivated to form SHGs for standing on their feet and earn a stable income.
Impact:
have been conducted by ACM to form 800 women’s organizations, empowering more than 20,000 rural women.
Facilitating Self-Help Groups
Over the years, ACM has encouraged many SHGs in the rurals to start small businesses and generate a stable livelihood. Financial assistance and training workshops have been offered to SHGs for establishing small businesses based upon Sabai Grass, Sal Leaf, Mahua, Mudhi, Dry Fish, Bamboo Sticks, Honey, and other available resources.
Impact:
empowering 15,000 individuals, have been provided with in-depth knowledge & training on SHG management, Record keeping, banking services, and income generation tactics.
Formation of Tribal Board Association
To protect the poor and innocent tribals from exploitations and injustice, ACM formed a tribal welfare committee – Orissa Adibasi Adhikar Abhijan (OAAA). The association ensures unity among tribals and empowers them to speak or fight against corruption in society. The primary agenda of the association is to resolve issues such as the revival of tribal culture and their fundamental rights.
Impact:
have been empowered under OAAA, and more than 1500 meetings & training sessions organized to strengthen their collective efforts in fighting the odds.
Formation of Forest Protection Committee
Since ACM has mostly worked in the rural areas of Odisha, forests and tribal communities are very common in our operational areas. To protect the forests from exploitation by outsiders/capitalists, ACM has formed Forest Protection Committee in different villages and guided the tribals about utilizing natural resources in a sustainable way and protecting the forest as guardians.

who live near forests, have been made aware of the preservation, protection and management of forest resources, for a sustainable future.
